First came the picking of the Christmas tree! This was too fun, Sophia walked around and touched them all. We found a perfect tree that was just right. Surprisingly Sophia wasn’t that interested in the decorations this year. She just looked and would go “Ooooooo”
She did however LOVE the light up reindeer out neighbors' had out and would get very excited to see them every time we got into the car!
This year my side of the family had our Christmas celebration early, my sister Aimee hosted us at her house. We made it about the kids and kept it casual which was perfect. Pizza, pop and watching the kids open the present. Sophia was blessed and spoiled by her Auntie’s and nana Ruth as well as Aimee's friend Mr.Josh!
Josh who is a war veteran has a pit/boxer mix that i was a bit leery of based on the reputation but this dog was so gentle towards the kids and Sophia was in Dog heaven. She loves dogs and wants to hug and kiss or lick them all!!!
Christmas eve tradition for the Reifsnyder side of our family is my sister in law and I take turns hosting, this year she hosted and it was just a perfect night. Great food and fun for all and pappy even attempted to begin a new tradition of reading the night before Christmas. you will see in the pictures that Sophia is definitely in that MOVING around stage. Not one to sit still for a book, but i know she enjoyed the story and will for years enjoy the tradition as much as the adults did.
Three generations of Reifsnyder men…
Pappy and his boys and 2 of his grand kids.
Christmas day!
This year for the first time since I can remember Mark and I had no family to host on Christmas day. It was a perfect day with seeing that Santa came and then had pancake breakfast and put a fire on and relaxed all day drinking coffee fireside while playing with Sophia's new toys. We didn't do too much as a 1 year old doesn't know that much but she did get a little people house, and a drum set by the maker of B you that she loved and some great books. It really was one of the BEST holidays i have had.
Setting out the cookies and carrots for Santa and the reindeer
I don't think Sophia understood that we had to leave the food and not eat it!
The next morning we all awoke and went downstairs to witness the empty cookie plate! Every year Santa leaves a very nice letter for us and has since the Christmas Mark and I married, its always a recap of the last year and what he hopes for us in the new year.
Sophia helped mommy make the pancakes!

These last few pictures make me smile. Sophia has been really into talking on the phone so everything is a phone right now. This morning she took her pancake and put it up to her ear and said helwo! Too cute.
